NAME: Emma Perry
TITLE: Impact and Event Specialist
FOCUS: As the Impact and Event Specialist I play a key role in reporting on the impact of Island Institute’s work and overseeing the administration of the Glenn Fund Community Impact grants and scholarships. Through this work, I ensure our funding creates meaningful change in Maine’s coastal communities. I also lead the planning and execution of all Institute events.
IN THIS PHOTO: Seen from behind the table at right, I am checking constituents into the premier of our Climate of Change: Aquaculture for People and Planet film on July 2 at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta, which more than 200 attended. This type of in-person event is no easy feat to pull off, but it’s one of the most effective ways to engage our existing supporters and introduce our work to new audiences. By providing opportunities to connect with our experts, we’re able to foster deeper relationships and build lasting trust.
Island Institute events are powerful tools for storytelling and sharing our impact. They allow us to show the real-world outcomes of our work, spark meaningful conversations, and hear directly from the communities we serve. Attendees leave with a better understanding of the challenges facing Maine’s coast and the innovative solutions being developed.
We are holding a webinar version of our Climate of Change: Aquaculture for People and Planet on Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. at which we’ll show the film, host a panel discussion, and end with a chance to engage with our panelists.
