Senator King cites TLC in op-ed

Collaborative of outer island school is an example of benefits of connectivity for students
Senator Angus King (D-ME) and FCC commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel wrote an op-ed in Roll Call on December 10th, 2014 advocating for a new, modernized version of the E-Rate program. They credit the current version of E-Rate with bringing internet connectivity to the nation's schools.

BAR HARBOR, ME—Island Institute and College of the Atlantic — two coastal Maine institutions with a history of finding sustainability solutions — will launch a new partnership at a special event at the College of the Atlantic on Thursday, August 14 at 6 p.m. “An Evening to Honor Polly Guth and Launch the Fund for Maine Islands,” will feature a dinner and reception honoring philanthropist Polly Guth with a special guest appearance by renowned television journalist Bill Moyers.
