Cultivating community-led solutions

Maine’s island and coastal communities have rich traditions of innovation and resiliency. They solve challenging problems, adapt to change, and work together to shape their futures. Our remote, rural towns, however, are facing increasing challenges. To support communities addressing these challenges, we work collaboratively on a variety of projects, from our Island Institute Fellows program, to grants and scholarships, to advocating for local and state policies.
