As the Multimedia Storyteller, Madison works with the content team to transform Island Institute’s work into compelling visual stories. With over ten years of experience in community-centered filmmaking, she brings a deep commitment to ethics and values to her work. Throughout her career, Madison has focused on environmental conservation and cultural heritage preservation—documenting stories about topics such as regenerative farming, red wolf conservation, folk artists, craft and belonging, grizzly bear behavior, and marine conservation. While working in the field for National Geographic’s Pristine Seas, she documented stories at the intersection of island communities, their connection and reliance on the ocean and marine science These films directly supported the establishment of Marine Protected Areas in the Marshall Islands, Palau, and Papua New Guinea.

In her free time, she enjoys all things plants – gardening, herbalism, fermentation and natural dyeing – as well as trail running, meditation, and spending time on the water.
