As Special Assistant to the President, Julia supports Island Institute’s executive leadership and Board of Trustees in advancing the organization’s mission and strategic priorities. She helps coordinate key initiatives, enhance collaboration across departments, and ensure effective communication between leadership, staff, and external partners.
Julia brings a strong background in organizational strategy, communications, and customer experience to her role. Before joining Island Institute, she was the director of customer operational and engagement efforts at a sustainable produce delivery company, where she helped scale internal systems and strengthened customer retention. Earlier in her career, she worked with a patient education software firm in Baltimore, Maryland, where she developed a passion for clear communication and user-centered design.
After growing up in Washington, D.C., Julia now calls Midcoast Maine home. She enjoys hiking, reading, and exploring the coast with her partner and their ever-growing gaggle of chihuahuas.
