1% for the Planet

In 2023, Island Institute was proud to be named a non-profit partner for 1% for the Planet. Thanks to a nomination by business member Maine Beer Company, we are joining a network that connects funds from environmentally committed companies with non-profit organizations doing the work. Since the model was established in 2002 by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, over $583M has been donated by business members worldwide to non-profits who work to protect the planet.
