Join Island Institute and The Ark—named one of the New York Times’ 50 Best Restaurants in the U.S. in 2025—for a memorable evening on Deer Isle celebrating Maine’s farm-raised scallops and the people championing this sustainable aquaculture practice. 

The evening will feature a curated menu showcasing locally farmed scallops, alongside lively conversation with scallop farmers and Island Institute staff about sustainable aquaculture, Maine’s working waterfronts, and Island Institute’s work in the community. 

Special guests include Marsden Brewer, Bobby Brewer, and Christina Brewer of PenBay Farm Scallops, and Marnie Crowell, co-author with Marsden of Farmed Sea Scallop Cookbook: A Guide to Whole Sea Scallops Sustainably Harvested. 

Tickets are $250 per person. Price includes a cocktail hour and a three-course dinner. Optional wine pairings and additional à la carte beverages will be available for purchase.
