In his role as HR Coordinator at the Island Institute, Jesse helps to implement the overall provision of HR services, policies, processes, and programs for the organization, and works with the Chief Leadership Officer to communicate and implement consistent and understandable HR policies, processes, and materials that comply with all federal and state regulations.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Jesse received a bachelors degree in fine arts from the University of Colorado at Denver. Prior to joining the Institute, Jesse held positions in health care policy, sports management, and data analysis, but he found his calling in administering human resources for Colorado’s Medicaid Department.
He is a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional and loves the day-to-day diversity of human resources functions. As the department’s HR Coordinator, he also helps the organization’s employees navigate their employment needs.
Jesse lives in midcoast Maine with his wife, Samantha, where they enjoy the quiet country living and the coo of loons off the nearby pond. In his personal time, he is an aspiring disc golfer and an avid outdoorsman. On the weekends, you can find him in the garden growing organic produce, fly fishing a local watering hole, making a mess in the kitchen, or backpacking somewhere scenic.
