Gillian Garratt-Reed

Gillian Garratt-Reed joined the Island Institute in March 2008 as Marine Programs Coordinator. Her work focuses on the effects of climate change on Maine's coastal communities and working- waterfront access programming, including the Affordable Coast Fund.
Prior to joining the Institute, Gillian taught at the Keystone Science School in Colorado and spent several seasons as a sailing instructor for Outward Bound Wilderness based in Wheeler's Bay.
Gillian is a resident of Martinsville, Maine and a graduate of Bowdoin College with dual degrees in environmental studies and geology.
