Bill McGuinness comes to the Island Institute with experience in the arts, education and two-and-a-half years of municipal government work on the Cranberry Isles. After receiving a BA from the film school at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), he worked - in many capacities - in theater and film production, taught pre-school and did freelance photography. Upon moving to Maine five years ago, Bill worked as a sternman on a lobster boat for two seasons and then became Facilities Supervisor for the Town of Cranberry Isles, a position he held until becoming Policy Specialist for the Island Institute in 2007. Bill resides full-time on Little Cranberry Island.
