Islesford Neighborhood House Executive Director
Bill McGuinness

Bill McGuinness is a Senior Fellow working on a special collaboration between the Island Institute and the Islesford Neighborhood House Association (INHA). Under the direction of the INHA, he is assisting a committee of island residents to develop and execute a plan to refurbish and renovate the Islesford Neighborhood House, Little Cranberry Island's 100-year-old community center. He is also exploring the development of additional programming at the Neighborhood House and providing support to existing programs.

After receiving a B.A. from the film school at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Bill worked in theater and film production, taught pre-school and did freelance photography. Upon moving to Maine seven years ago, Bill worked as a sternman on a lobster boat for two seasons and then became the facilities supervisor for the Town of Cranberry Isles, a position he held until becoming the policy specialist for the Island Institute in 2007.

Bill resides full-time on Little Cranberry Island with his wife Sonja Moser and their son Finnegan. In addition to his work with the Island Institute, he continues to work as a photographer.
