Campaign Manager/Major Gifts Officer

The Island Institute seeks a passionate, mission-driven, strategic leader as its next Campaign Manager/Major Gifts Officer.

This role will report directly to the President and work as a collaborative member of the Funder Relations team, developing campaign strategies to execute a multi-year fundraising plan. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the Maine coast and a proven track record in securing major gifts.

The Campaign Manager/Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for developing and executing targeted cultivation plans and solicitation strategies for a range of prospects; managing the writing and development of campaign print and electronic collateral materials in collaboration with the Funder Relations team; overseeing campaign communications; advising on cultivation and recognition events; scheduling and supporting campaign leadership meetings; and managing a portfolio of approximately 50 individual major gift prospects. 

The ideal candidate will have five to eight years of professional experience in fundraising with a proven track record of success, as well as specific experience developing and managing the implementation of campaign strategy, volunteer engagement, individual giving and/or major gifts, organizing data to measure progress toward benchmarks, and advising on campaign event strategy.

These teams include Aquaculture, Small Business Support, and Lobster Strategy. The Senior Community Development Officer will also participate in the development of a newly formed community impact fund.

Marine Business Specialist

The Island Institute seeks qualified candidates for the new full-time position of Marine Business Specialist. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge, skills, and experience to successfully work with and support coastal fishermen through the Institute’s shellfish and seaweed aquaculture business-development and small-business Launchpad programs. Additionally, the successful applicant will be able to help develop and implement the Institute’s strategies to support the lobster industry.

Community Development Officer – Marine Business Specialist

Community Development Officer – Student Services

The Island Institute seeks qualified candidates for the new position of Community Development Officer – Student Services to provide student services and educational experiences as a member of project teams that collaborate with other internal and external partners. Applicants must also be able to allocate their time and organizational resources while working across multiple projects on teams that include Education, Island Fellows, and Energy. Programs may include, but are not limited to, the Teaching and Learning Collaborative, MAP (Mentoring, Access and Persistence), Island Fellows support and training experiences, and Energy Education programming.

Community Development Officer – Data Analysis & Translation

The Island Institute seeks qualified candidates for the new full-time position of Community Development Officer – Data Analysis & Translation to provide data analysis and data support to multiple project teams, including Waypoints Community Data, Sea Level Rise, What Works Solution Sharing, and Education. In this role, the Community Development Officer will work within organizational teams and with communities to research and analyze data (primarily socioeconomic) and also provides clear communication around data and its implications to general audiences.
