Bethany helps build the Institute's visibility, impact, and financial resources by growing philanthropic revenue and enhancing fundraising efforts in the Downeast region of Maine–primarily focusing on the areas of Mount Desert, the Blue Hill and Schoodic Peninsulas, and the surrounding communities.
Bethany is passionate about helping individuals and families make a meaningful impact in their communities through an investment in the work and programs of the Island Institute. In her role, she also raises awareness of the organization’s mission and programs through the planning, coordination, and execution of development events in those areas.
A native of Northeast Harbor, Maine, Bethany holds a bachelor’s in fine arts from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. Prior to joining the Institute, she was president of her own fundraising consultant business for nine years. She is an active jeweler and painter and lives with her partner, Kevin, on a horse farm in Albion.
