On May 31, 2018, the Maine Broadband Coalition hosted a statewide broadband conference at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine. Organized by the Island Institute, the Maine Secretary of State's Office, GrowSmart Maine, and CEI, the event brought together both communities and national experts to share lessons learned to date, discuss new ways for solving challenges, and identify future policy needs to help ensure all Mainers are connected through high speed, reliable internet.

The conference featured a special afternoon keynote by U.S. Senator Angus King, as well as speaker presentations and panel discussions highlighting perspectives, best practices from the past two years of broadband planning efforts and community implementation, and the next frontier of policy issues that need to be addressed to truly bring broadband to our state.
