Vinalhaven Public Health Fellow Gets a Workout this Winter

Peter Levandoski has had a busy winter, helping coordinate a substance-abuse prevention class for families and two cardiovascular-disease seminars, as well as planning and publicizing the next round of the ‘Living Well' class. He also developed a new protocol with the medical director for future visits from Pen Bay Medical Center nutrition center staff and is coordinating with the state's caseworker for the North Haven Head Start program to coordinate a visit for its kids to the dental clinic on Vinalhaven. Peter's other projects include entering data from existing heart-disease charts into a database so that his outreach work and that of future health-clinic helpers will have accurate statistics to support it.
