The panel discussion will focus on community wind power projects. Panel participants will represent state efforts and agencies, municipalities, and local community groups. Rep Hannah Pingree is invited to speak on behalf of energy efficiency legislation and the Efficiency Maine Plus Program. Sean Mahoney of the State's Energy Task Force will speak about their initiatives. Marjorie Stratton has agreed to speak to her municipal experience regarding the project siting process as it relates to zoning and planning board processes. George Baker will talk about the Vinalhaven project process including successes and challenges along the way. We are working to secure additional speakers. The goal is to present a broad view of community wind power projects.
The panel discussion is scheduled from 10 until noon. At noon we will break for lunch allowing time for people to talk informally. After lunch, time is set aside for legislative updates and updates on The Working Waterfront, Fisheries, and the Maine Affordable Housing Coalition.
A finalized agenda and additional details will be out soon. In the meantime, please save this date.
