More than 200 community members, state officials, Island Institute staff and guests celebrated a precedent-setting effort between two fisheries that has resulted in the construction of a $500,000 dock designed to ensure access for both lobstermen and groundfishermen for generations to come. Funding from the state's Working Waterfront Access Pilot Program, the Institute's Affordable Coast Fund, the 1772 Foundation and the Up East Foundation augmented the fishermen's own investment and an in-kind donation by Prock Marine of a percentage of the labor costs.
