Maine Islands Coalition Meeting Agenda - November 13, 2009



Tuesday October 20th, 2009

The next Maine Islands Coalition meeting will take place on Friday, November 13th in Rockland at the Island Institute office at 386 Main Street. The meeting is scheduled to run from 12-4 p.m., so it can tie in with the Sustainable Island Living Conference, which begins with a keynote presentation at 7 p.m. at the Strand Theater. The Maine Islands Coalition meeting agenda is as follows:  

12:00- 12:30: Lunch and networking
12:30- 2:00: Ocean Energy Siting legislation- what does it mean to Maine? We are inviting people from Rhode Island and Massachusetts who have experience in navigating the legilsative process concerning off-shore energy siting projects.
2:00- 3:00: Legislative Updates from current legislators. Working Waterfront legislation updates (Jen Litteral), Maine Affordable Housing Coalition (Rob Snyder), Lobster Task Force (Jen Litteral).
3:00- 3:15: Gubernatorial candidates forum: discussion about the next Governor's race in the fall. Would the MIC be interested in such a forum? (Jen Litteral)
3:15- 4:00: Maine Islands Coalition planning and its role/relationship with the Island Institute as the Institute moves into a new strategic planning phase.
