Vinalhaven Highlights
Monday April 6th, 2009
Tristan Jackson, the Island Institute's first Apprentice, is serving as an alternative educator and community organizer to help restructure and revitalize the Arts and Recreation Center (ARC), the first phase of Active Community Centers for Exercise and Safe Socializing (ACCESS), a place-based education project advancing an apprenticeship model of education for young islanders. There is a great spirit of excitement, with people of all ages - especially students - taking on leadership roles and driving the project forward. For more information on the ARC, please visit www.vharc.org.
