In the last few months, Eliza Greenman's work in sustainable community development has included working with a forester and island residents to develop a forest plan for the Cranberry Isles, coordinating the Islesford Buying Club, organizing a community-supported fisheries project, completing a Great Cranberry road-mapping project, and organizing a wind-power group to explore the islands' capacity for wind energy.
"Eliza seems to be everywhere. From attending a ballroom dancing class on the mainland with one of our favorite island ladies to being the shrimp lady and putting together a CSF program for local shrimpers, Eliza is there. She has filled in at the library when needed and helped to maintain the local buying club for those of us who support Maine-based agricultural efforts. And don't forget the work she does for the town as part of her island fellow duties. She always has a smile on her face." - Dave Thomas, Islesford resident
