Morgan Witham will continue to work with the island school on Isle au Haut, where she has been helping the school develop a health and physical education curriculum to teach ‘healthy habits' and promote physical activity, and assisting with technology training and incorporating technology into the classroom. At the Revere Memorial Library, she will continue to catalog the collection as well as organize activities such as a volunteer program, book club and summer reading program for children.
Morgan grew up on Deer Isle and is well aware of the challenges of island life. After traveling to Grinnell College in Iowa, where she earned a degree in theater, Morgan returned to Maine and worked as an education technician at the Gouldsboro Grammar School as well as a docent at the Woodlawn Museum. She has volunteered in community theater activities at The Grand in Ellsworth. Morgan returned to school to fulfill a Masters of American and New England Studies at USM, where she worked as an archivist at the Glickman Library and as a research assistant.
