Liv served as a Fellow from 2002 to 2004, working with several island communities in Penobscot Bay to implement GIS technology as a planning tool.
During her Fellowship, Liv accomplished several objectives including:
- Assisting Islesboro, Vinalhaven, Islesford (the village on Little Cranberry Island), Stonington / Deer Isle and Peaks Island incorporate GIS technology into planning efforts and other projects
- Assisting a North Haven high-school student with a mapping project.
- Teaching adult-education classes in GIS use and applications on Islesboro, Vinalhaven and North Haven.
After her Fellowship, Liv began working at the Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) in Damariscotta.
