B.A. in History, with an Anthropology minor in Arctic Studies
Eli Bossin

Eli is the recipient of the Louis W. Cabot Fellowship award, funded by the Grayce B. Kerr Foundation in honor of Louis Cabot, vice-chair of the Institute's board of trustees and chair of the Institute's successful "Sustaining a Way of Life" capital campaign.

Eli is working with the Chebeague Island Historical Society and the Town of Chebeague Island. The town-related work will include helping to create an electronic retrieval system that will make paper records accessible to the public, complete and organize road and paper street research and create data bases of information on which public policy will be based. The paper street project has resulted in the preservation of numerous coastal access points and Chebeague hopes to preserve even more with additional research.

He is also assisting the Chebeague Island Historical Society with the creation of the 2010 exhibit. He will collaborate with committee members to research and identify articles from the collection to support the exhibit, and will work with the Collection Committee to catalogue and photograph recent acquisitions. Eli will help catalogue Chebeague Island Postcards, which will involve scanning and publishing in the form of a DVD or a Book.

Also, Eli will help the society apply for a Maine Humanities Infrastructure grant to provide additional exhibit furniture and audio visual equipment to make exhibits more multi-dimensional. He will also assist with the Maine Island Historical Society Conference, researching various aspects of the potential conference and conducting a feasibility study.

Eli, a native of Sharon, Massachusetts, is a recent graduate of Bowdoin College, where he received a B.A. in History, with an Anthropology minor in Arctic Studies
