Strong Institute Presence at the 2009 Fishermen's Forum
Tuesday March 10th, 2009
The Maine Fishermen's Forum is the largest gathering of its kind in New England, and the 2009 edition drew thousands of commercial fishermen and others to the Samoset Resort in Rockport. The Island Institute and its partner, the Midcoast Fishermen's Association, facilitated or participated on eight panels and breakout sessions. Topics ranged from "Rethinking the Lobster Industry from Trap to Plate" to "Climate Change Through the Eyes of Fishermen" and "Thriving on a Smaller Catch."
