Island Fellows Program

Host a Fellow

Could your island or coastal community use a full-time, dedicated, committed young graduate to tackle a special community project?

Since 1999, the Island Institute has matched over 70 talented Island Fellows with communities requesting their help. Fellows have tackled projects that have included developing school curricula, creating arts programs, mapping community resources using GIS technology, leveraging assistance for small island-based businesses, conducting research projects or surveys, cataloging historical society and library collections, monitoring marine or other natural resources, finding the funding to build a new community center, and much more.

If you think your organization or community could benefit from an Island Fellow placement, please contact Chris Wolff, the Island Institute's Community Development Director, at 207/712-8551, or cwolff@islandinstitute.org
