On Friday, August 13th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., the Strand Theatre in Rockland will be the site for an Island and Coastal Issues Gubernatorial Candidates' Forum. Moderated by Don Carrigan of WCSH Channel 6, candidates for the Maine governor's spot will respond to questions that have been provided to them in advance, and that focus on four topics: Alternative Energy, Fisheries, Affordable Housing and Education. Senator Elizabeth H. Mitchell (D), Eliot R. Cutler (I), Shawn Moody (I), Keven Scott (I) have all agreed to attend; as of August 2, Mayor Paul R. LePage (R) had also been invited, but had not confirmed his participation. The event is free and open to the public.
