Coalition-Building
The Island Institute has found coalition-building to be an extremely successful advocacy tool. While recognizing that each year-round island or working-waterfront community is unique, we also know that many communities tackle similar issues and that tremendous synergy can result from their working together towards common goals.

Bringing community representatives together to speak as one voice, or to offer each other advice on common experiences, has helped resolve challenges as well as unite support to achieve success.
The Island Institute has experience in many aspects of coalition-building, drawn from founding, leading and supporting several coalitions throughout our history. Whether big or small, focused on single or multiple issues, communities and organizations find the Island Institute to be a tremendous resource in building the support they need to achieve success.
