Archipelago
Maine has long been known for its ability to inspire artists, and the islands of the Gulf of Maine have been particularly associated with the production of fine arts and crafts. Archipelago, the Island Institute store and gallery, showcases a broad and unique collection of handmade art, craft and design that represents the very best of Maine's islands and coastal communities. Experience the talent, and catch a glimpse of Maine island life where craftsmanship is infused with integrity.

Maine's greatest natural assets
Part art gallery and part gift store, Archipelago exists as a mainland venue for island and Maine artisans to gain exposure and generate income through sales of their work. As a program of the Island Institute, income generated by Archipelago sales is used to advance programs that support island communities. Shop Archipelago, and you will find delightfully special and one-of-a-kind items, and you will be helping to support one of Maine's greatest natural assets--its island and working waterfront communities.
